Our Story

Amanda and Shaun have made giving back to their communities a central part of their lives.  From mentoring children starting in middle school to volunteering with children's cancer organizations, Amanda and Shaun love giving back to children in the community.  

In 2012 Shaun joined Denver Kids as a mentor and was paired up with the Baker family.  The Baker family became much more than a mentor / mentee relationship as their two families became close.  It's a friendship that continues to this day!

Fast forward to 2020 and the idea of SOARforCHANGE was born.  America was challenged with a pandemic, economic uncertainty, and racial division.  As these issues deepened Amanda and Shaun realized one thing; children in underserved communities were disproportionally impacted.  On a 20 hour family road trip from Colorado to California the idea for SOARforCHANGE was born.  Amanda and Shaun may not change the world but they can create a foundation to provide hope and opportunity and inspire change through continued education and community impact.  

Amanda and Shaun plan to lead by example and commit $10,000 annually to SOARforCHANGE to guarantee the foundation's continuous success.  With your support we can increase the amount of scholarships awarded!
